Michael Percy Albert has served as an applied music associate at Colby college since 2007 teaching oboe, violin, and mandolin. Mainly performing classical oboe, he performs regularly in other styles including Celtic, Baroque, and Jazz. He serves as English Hornist with the Bangor Symphony; performs Baroque Violin, Baroque Oboe, and Recorders with St. Mary’s Schola in Portland, ME as well as with various ensembles throughout New England; Celtic Fiddle, Whistles, Irish Flute, and Voice with the Beggar Boys; and Jazz Oboe and Bass Oboe with Initial Ascent. Michael co-leads and regularly composes music for the Celtic Eventide Service at St. Alban’s Church in Cape Elizabeth, ME and currently serves on the Board of Directors for St. Mary’s Schola. Michael can be heard performing Mozart’s Oboe Concerto in C with the Augusta, ME symphony in November.
