An American in Paris: Young Artists Concert
Back by popular demand! The fountain of youth is elusive, but contact with talented young people refreshes the spirits, builds a bridge to the future for our art form and gives hope and delight.
This annual recital celebrates the next generation of early music stars, offers paid professional opportunities for early career musicians, coaching and ongoing mentorship with Whidbey Island Music Festival artists.
This year’s concert features 3 young artists in a program of music that takes a look at one of America’s founding fathers, Ben Franklin, and his encounter with the glittering musical salons of Paris during his tenure as Ambassador in Paris. With works by Ben Franklin, Anne-Louise Boyvin d'Hardancourt Brillon de Jouy, Luigi Boccherini, Muzio Clementi, new works by Henry Lebedinsky and more.
